The ONLY reason Uber and Lyft have had any success whatsoever is because of the abysmal failure of cities to centrally plan their cab fleets.
Have you been in a cab? Have any of you ride-sharing critics been in a cab?
They’re slow, gross AND expensive. The difference is night and day.
The only people who have a beef with uber and lyft are taxi company owners, and guess what: they’re at least as guilty of all of the sins you lay at the feet of their competition.
The boneheaded top-down management of taxi fleets is being shown for the massive scam it’s always been. That *must* rankle socialists. So of course the outrage about uber is about worker’s rights…
Of course you have a choice to continue using ossified, more expensive, less pleasant cabs — but don’t pretend you’re doing anyone any favors. Just admit you like central planning better than individual autonomy.
