Malcolm X warned black people about this kind of liberal performance. It's meaninglessly hollow, and as you point out: very self-serving.

I don't trust actors and politicians when they tell me the sky is blue. I certainly don't trust them when they "very earnestly" spill their guts about some hot-button issue in a way that glorifies themselves.

I'm also very skeptical of the not-so-tiny cottage industry of racial and diversity training and education. It's a $4 billion annual business, and some of the biggest beneficiaries are the same kind of already-wealthy white people who have literally NO FUCKING solutions outside of telling white people they need to practice contrition forever for the great sin of their whiteness. I don't think lowly enough of black people to see how any one of them want some teary eyed upper middle class whiner giving them a sappy apology for that time they asked to touch someone's hair.

Meanwhile, these racism profiteers pocket $10k a pop speaking fees from Exxon and Apple and millions more from their book royalties. I'm looking straight into the eyes of the Robin DiAngeleos of the world and I think I see some very sick and opportunistic people who are only helping themselves.

If racism is ever going to improve or go away, it's not going to be because of these dipshits who feather their beds from these kinds of performances. If you're benefiting from racism on purpose and you have no real solutions, I have no kind words to say about you.
