It seems like there’s a healthy debate among researchers and doctors about the usefulness of this drug — which is of course fine and expected.

What’s troubling from my perspective is that a drug and a potential treatment is now politicized to oblivion. If my doctor and I come to a conclusion that hydroxychloroquine (or any other drug) is an appropriate therapy for COVID or any other malady, isn’t that my business? It’s foolhardy for people to posture a drug therapy as a political viewpoint.

Of course, the left broadly recognizes the hazard of politicizing a medical procedure, or they should. An abortion procedure should be safe and rare not politically oriented.

Taking another step back: the media’s role in this cheerleading and booing for and against MEDICINE based on the political leanings of ONE GUY who mentioned it is fucking insane. Maybe this drug can help some people? I’m not a doctor. Maybe let doctors and patients come to rational conclusions based on their own decision making facilities.

The alternative is to let some tribunal of politicized idiots make those decisions.
