In Joe's defense, he told Sanjay Gupta this week that he thinks many people should get vaccinated, and it was exactly the same high-risk people that you note are most likely to get sick, hospitalized or killed by covid. He said the elderly, the obese and people with other vulnerabilities should get vaccinated.

You note that the median ages of people who are getting sick, hospitalized and dying from Covid - and I don't think many of those people are listening to Joe Rogan. If they were, they'd also be smoking DMT and doing BJJ. (Hopefully not at the same time.)

And listen, we know who to blame for vaccine hesitancy. It's not Joe Rogan telling people he thinks they should be vaccinated and telling everyone else it's up to them (as big as his platform has become) it's our reckless-with-the-truth public health establishment that in turn kicked the legs out from the working class and then lied about all kinds of nonsense in the name of public health, and has now weaponized both the media and the state to vaccinate people. No one would respond favorably to that recipe.

The loss of public trust is for good reason: the public health establishment earned its untrustworthiness with lots of hard work.
