I think the frustrating part is that while something like the Oklahoma pedophile ring is probably pure fiction, it's highly likely that *something* like it existed or continues to exist.

We just found out that Jeffrey Epstein was running a child sex ring as a part of some kind of global espionage/blackmail plot. He got murdered in his jail cell for it. It was a massive, decades-long conspiracy that is so shocking, most people are incapable of even engaging with its ramifications.

It would be kind of foolish to assume that because we haven't uncovered more of these plots, that they're not happening.

Whatever terrible thing you might imagine that could help powerful people retain their power, it would be odd to dismiss that thing as unlikely. Murder. Rape. Torture. Assassination. Sex slavery. It's all on the table.

Debunking one narrow example of a global pedophile ring does not undo the likelihood that such a thing is occurring, or has occurred in the recent past.
