Tucker Carlson showing how much credibility the American Intelligence Community has

Gather round ye kind folk and I’ll weave you a tale told by our forbears: a story so incredible and incredibly recent that you might be wondering what’s in those pills your therapist has been prescribing.

Way back in 2013, a man with the implausible name of Eddy Snowman (probably a pseudonym) revealed in a massive leak of certified Federal documents that the United States spy agency apparatus had been illegally spying on American citizens.

Which ones?

This is where the tale gets even spookier: it turns out, the NSA and various other alphabet agencies were spying on basically everyone…

Incels (involuntary celibates, or people who can’t get laid despite an ostensible interest) are now painted with the broadest of brushes after one person who called themselves incel (Elliot Rodger) went on a killing spree.

We might imagine a more charitable view of these folks, except that by modern victim hierarchy standards, they’re the lowest of the low — most incels are men, and most of these men are white. Yecch.

That observation might seem nefarious until you realize it’s downstream of demographics that in the US still means most people of any particular stripe are white and/or men. Not…

For most of the past 13 months, any mention of a lab leak scenario was strictly forbidden on social media, scoffed at in mainstream media and even reputable public health experts who brought it up were threatened by their colleagues.

At the great cost of their credibility, otherwise reputable outlets like the Lancet went all-in on discrediting the possibility of a lab leak. Not very scientific, that.

I wrote a piece on Medium in early December 2020 supporting the lab leak hypothesis as the most likely scenario, only to be accused of racism(?), …

Interviewing is not easy, intuitive or even remotely normal. Here’s a quick checklist to read right BEFORE you go into your interview. Good luck!

Congratulations on getting an interview. You probably already realize that you are in a privileged space. Many people in similar circumstances have not received an email back, let alone an interview request.

It would be a real shame if you blew the interview…

Most people are so excited (aka, nervous) that they forget one or more key things to say, do and ask — especially if they feel like the interview has gone well.

People understandably want to quit while they’re ahead and get out of the room/call as fast as possible before they make a mistake.

The real mistake…

The only lab in China that researches coronaviruses: Wuhan Lab

The worst pandemic in a century is still ongoing. Its origin is still not completely understood by the public. People are still dying. The global economy is on the brink of a major collapse. There’s a lot at stake!

But we’re not completely in the dark. Consider this simple exercise:

You have to pick one of the two (or both, but not neither) of the following statements as true:

  1. A modern city of 9 million people (the size of NYC) is full of dirty, trash-meat eating Chinese people who don’t know or don’t care to avoid spreading disease in their…

Rule 1 of effective leadership: never EVER give an order you can’t or won’t enforce.

In 2015, John Kerry journeyed to war-torn Iraq, which was facing a full-blown ISIS-crisis thanks to the bungling of post-war efforts coming from everyone in American foreign policy.

If you were cynical or paying attention, you might imagine that such bungling actually was on purpose, in service of the forever war that enriches the political class and their friends in the defense industry.

Rather than being ashamed, of y’know, helping to utterly destroy an entire country to the point that it was marauded by warlords and religious zealots, Kerry got behind the podium and confidently spewed pompous promises about how…

Oh, there they are!

Getting a great job has always been difficult, but our friend COVID-19 just made it much harder.

If you’re serious about cracking into a long-term career or resuming your career, now is NOT the time for half-measures. It’s not time for the same old playbook.

If you think posting once a day on LinkedIn or sending out resumes is going to work, you’re wrong and you probably already know it.

Here’s some tough love:

  1. You are NOT going to find your dream job in your hometown. Or your college town. It’s not there. If it was there, you would have…

Haque, pictured in his tough-guy cosplay, fooling no one

If you’ve been on Medium for any period of time, you’ve probably been sucked in by one of Umair Haque’s tabloid headlines. It’s all fire and brimstone. America is on fire. Your water is poison. The trees are fascist. Your neighbor who goes to church during Covid is a war criminal. You are racist. The air you breathe is a capitalist plot, etc.

As a copywriter by trade, I’m familiar with the tricks and stunts that Umair sprinkles into his posts. I can see through the matrix code and peer into the pure narrative he’s constructed.

His politics might at…

Let’s flatten that curve

Thought experiment:

If you had to come up with a curriculum that would result in a generation of obedient, uncritical, rule following zombies, what would it look like?

Maybe… 4–6 hours of zoom calls a day where the main topic is almost always “how to behave on a zoom call.” That way, the lesson is to obey, be quiet, and always, always look at the screen.

Of course, screen time is vital to undermining the formation of children into happy, healthy, productive adults. …

No one asks where the walking lady liberty is walking to…

There will be blood before this is over.

Gold just reached all time dollar denominated highs.

I almost didn’t notice.

I’ve owned gold for over a decade — buying it shortly before it started its last major surge higher in 2008.

Gold is still a ways off from inflation-adjusted highs of $2,600 or so. I think we’ll see that record blown away in the coming years. But I’m not happy.

Gold reaching new highs is never *good* news. Not even for gold owners.

Gold doesn’t spike because people are feeling optimistic, or because the fiat currency gold is priced in is doing well, or the country that prints that fiat currency is on the upswing.

I know people think of gold…
